If you’ve been following me for the past month or so, I’m sure you’ve seen me talking about this, but given that the issue hasn’t been resolved, I wanted to make this post.

My mother is missing. Her name is Kimberly Gwyneth Fetchuk Thomas. She goes by Kim. She is 53 years old. She was last seen on March 16 in White Rock, British Columbia, when she told her roommate that she was going “on vacation” to the United States with a friend named “Anne.” Since then, nobody has seen her or spoken to her. She apparently told her employer that she would return to work on April 6, but she never returned from her “vacation.” She has also missed two appearances in divorce court, scheduled months in advance, since she went missing. According to the police, her vehicle did cross the Canadian-U.S. border at some point following March 16, and money was withdrawn from her bank account at an ATM in the Anaheim, California area sometime between March 16 and April 21. That is the full extent of what we know.

Because we are estranged and I haven’t seen her since 2012, I can’t comment on her current appearance, but I’ve attached two photos that show her with long and short hair so you can have an idea of what she looks like. She has a medium build. She occasionally wears glasses, but normally wears contact lenses. 

She is not in a mentally stable condition. There is a history of major depressive disorder in her family, and she has demonstrated symptoms of major depressive disorder and borderline personality disorder. As I noted above, she was also going through a period of divorce hearings when she went missing - an emotionally taxing process for anyone, but an especially protracted and difficult one in our family. I believe that she may be experiencing suicidal ideation, and the police are worried about her safety given these factors.

If you have seen her, please contact the White Rock Police Department at (778) 592-3600. Again, the last hint we have as to her location is an ATM withdrawal from her bank account somewhere in the Anaheim, California area sometime between March 16 and April 21.
