URGENT: The PPD just shot a homeless person in SE. This person was mentally ill and self harming, the cop shot them 6 times. The press conference and media response is now at SE Cora and 15th. Show up and show the cameras how we feel about the police gunning down the residents of our city. PLEASE FORWARD, SHOW UP, REACT!

Today, May 17, 2015 at 2:15 p.m., Central Precinct officersreceived a call of an individual cutting himself with a knife.Officers responded to the call which was in the 1500 block ofS.E. Boise. During the course of this contact the subject wasshot by a responding officer. Officers were able to quicklyrender medical assistance and the subject is currently beingtransported to an area hospital.
Homicide detectives are responding to conduct aninvestigation. It is still early in the investigation. Additionalupdates will follow as more information becomes available.
